Feb 4 This is a wonderful piece of mid century pottery made by Gustavsberg of Sweden. It is a large charger or low bowl made of very heavy and thick stoneware pottery with a mottled green glaze and sterling silver inlay called Argenta. Note the tiny daddy long legs spider in the silver foliage and the fine hand detailing on the leaves. The 1970s and 1980s became more difficult times for Gustavsberg. The factory found it harder to compete with pottery production from low-income countries.
